Hotels near Fratton Park
You won’t have to spend a fortune on accommodations in Portsmouth, especially if you book your hotel room well in advance of your stay. The city has a decent number of low-to-middle priced hotels. For those travelling from beyond England, the price of rooms might seem high, but compared to other cities in the UK Portsmouth is pretty reasonable. If you don’t find a place in the city, you can also look for rooms in nearby Southampton and in other towns along the southern coast of England. Some of these areas get crowded during the summer months and rates usually go up that time of year. Here are a few hotel options close to Portsmouth FC’s Fratton Park.

  • Beaufort Hotel, 71 Festing Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, PO4 0NQ – One minute walk to the sea and less than a 20-minute walk from Fratton Park, the Beaufort is a reliable choice for those attending Portsmouth FC’s games. Rooms start at around £40.
  • Inn Lodge, Burrfields Rd, Portsmouth, PO3 5HH – There is nothing fancy about the Inn Lodge, but it is one of those hotels that will seem extremely comfortable after a day at the stadium. With prices starting from £29, it offers excellent value in Portsmouth.
  • Queen’s Hotel, Clarence Parade, Southsea, Portsmouth, P05 3LJ – If you want an experience, stay at the Queen’s Hotel. The historic building enjoys superb views of the Solent and Isle of Wight and is located right on Southsea’s historic seafront in Portsmouth.

Hostels near Fratton Park
With so many lower budget hotels in Portsmouth, there isn’t much of a need for hostels. However, there are a couple of options for those looking to stay with backpackers and world travellers while in town checking out a Portsmouth FC game.

  • Portsmouth and Southsea Backpackers Lodge, 4 Florence Road, Portsmouth – A hostel in a great location for those looking to enjoy Portsmouth’s Southsea area, as well as a game at Fratton Park. Book early because this is really the only hostel option in town and it often filled up.
  • The Brimar Guest House, 10-14 High Street Totton, Southampton– Located about 20 minutes away from Fratton Park in Southampton, the Brimar Guest House is a basic bed and breakfast with 21 rooms. It is about a ten-minute walk from the train station that has rail service to Portsmouth.
