Manchester City plays at the City of Manchester Stadium, which is located a little over a kilometer from the center of the city. Manchester is one of England’s biggest cities. It has an airport that is serviced by international and domestic flights; it is part of the country’s rail network; and buses from all over the UK arrive in the city on a daily basis. With two Premiership teams in the city and a couple others located in nearby Liverpool, Manchester can be a great base if you want to check out a number of English Premier League venues.

Mondays are popular with business travelers and weekends are key dates for holidaymakers wanting the longest trips possible – avoid these dates. Consider traveling on a lesser-known carrier. British Airways is the national airline. However, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, Aer Lingus and other airlines also stop in Manchester.

The most expensive air tickets to Manchester are found during peak holiday travel times, such as the summer Eurail season. Also be aware of national events or festivals, which can also cause ticket prices to rise.

You can also fly to Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport, which is also the home of many budget airlines and is about an hour away from Manchester.
