Reading is located in Berkshire in Southeast England. It is located on the River Thames approximately 74 miles from London and 37 miles from Oxford. Madejski Stadium is about three miles from the Reading train station in the center of the city.

By Air
There is not an airport in Reading. The best way to arrive by airplane is to fly to London and commute from there. There is a rail link from Gatwick airport to Reading and a bus link from Heathrow to Reading. You can also drive to the city from London on the M4 motorway.

Heathrow Airport (airport code LHR) – Heathrow Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. It is a hub for British Airways, Virgin Airways, and bmi, and it services flights from the United States on British Airways, United Airlines, American Airlines and Virgin Atlantic Airways. Trains and buses run frequently from the center of London to Heathrow.

Gatwick Airport (airport code LGW) – Gatwick is London’s second biggest airport. It services more U.S. airline carriers than Heathrow. It is also a hub for British Airways and Virgin Airways.

Standsted Airport (airport code STN) – Standsted is where you will arrive if you fly on one of Europe’s discount airlines like Ryanair and easyJet. It services airlines from throughout Europe.

Luton Airport (airport code LTN) – It is another arrival and jumping off point for low-cost flights to Europe and throughout the UK.

London is a hub for the following airlines:
British Airways Flights, Virgin Atlantic Airways Flights, Ryanair Flights, bmi Flights, easyJet Flights, Air Berlin Flights

By Train
Reading is well served by trains from London and cities throughout the United Kingdom. Madjeski Stadium is located about three miles from Reading’s train station. If arriving in Reading by train, the easiest way to complete the journey is by the number 79 shuttle bus. For the bus stop, leave the station by the main exit, cross by the pelican crossing and turn right. The bus stop (labelled SQ) is about 50 yards down the road. There is also a taxi rank immediately outside the rail station.

If you plan on traveling by train while in England, BritRail can often save you time and money.

By Car
From the North, West or East:
Get onto the M4 and leave at Junction 11

From the South:

Get onto the A33 which crosses the M4 at Junction 11. From Junction 11, head north on the A33 signposted Reading Town Centre. The link roads to Madejski Stadium are on your left.

By Bus
The number 79 shuttle bus runs from near the rail station (as described above) to a point just west of the stadium. Buses leave the town center at roughly 5 minute intervals starting two hours before kick-off.
