Getting There & Away
You might not know it, because Paris gets all the press, but Lyon is France’s third largest city. As such, it’s well-connected via both plane and train routes to other cities throughout France and elsewhere.

By Air
Saint-Exupéry Airport (LYS) (which used to be called Lyon Satolas Airport) is the city’s only airport. It’s about 20km outside Lyon, and is a major airline hub for the entire region. It’s France’s fourth-busiest airport, and although it isn’t a hub for any airline it has regular flights on many major airlines to points throughout Europe and beyond. To get from the airport into the city center, you can take a bus that runs twice an hour (it’s about a 45-minute trip) for less than €9 one-way. The high-speed TGV train actually connects right to the airport, and if you wanted to hop right on the TGV and go to Paris you’d be there in less than two hours - but that train doesn’t stop in Lyon city center.

By Train
If you doubted that Lyon is a big city, the fact that it has four big train stations should help convince. Aside from the TGV station at the airport, the three others are St. Paul, Perrache, and Part-Dieu - which one you’ll arrive at depends on where you’re coming from. Both Perrache and Part-Dieu have regular service from trains throughout the region and the country, whereas St. Paul is mainly for regional trains. Those arriving at Part-Dieu will need to get on the metro line B to get to the stadium (the stop you’ll want is cleverly called Stade de Gerland), and those arriving at Perrache will take bus #96 for the stadium. A single ticket for either the metro or bus will cost less than €2.

By Road
From the Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport, get on the D29 heading South. After a couple of km, you’ll take the ramp onto the A432 - and then after another 3km you’ll take the exit onto the A43. Take exit 1 toward Saint-Ètienne/Marseille/Périphérique Ouest, and merge onto D383. Take exit 16-Lyon-Centre-Porte de Gerland to merge onto Boulevard Chambaud de La Bruyère/D12 and continue on the D12. You’ll turn right at Avenue Jean Jaures, and the stadium will be on your left.
