Getting There & Away
Munich is one of Germany’s major tourist destinations, and it boasts a large airport as well as a well-connected train station. Getting in and out of Munich is really quite simple.

By Air
Munich International Airport (MUC) is technically known as Franz Josef Strauss International Airport, but it’s rarely called that. It’s Germany’s second-busiest airport, and routinely ranked as one of the best airports in Europe. It’s about 25km from the city center, and well-connected to the city via the S-Bahn. To get into the city from the airport, you’ll take either the S1 or S8 - the journey to the central train station is about 40 minutes, and a ticket will cost you about €8.

By Train
Munich’s main train station is the Hauptbahnhof, which is right in the city center. There are regular trains to and from cities throughout Germany and Europe, particularly because Munich is a hub for Deutsche Bahn, so getting to and from Munich by train is easy and you should have plenty of options (especially if you’re coming from another big city). From the Hauptbahnhof, it’s a short walk to the Marienplatz in the heart of Munich, or you can take the S-Bahn.

By Road
From the Munich International Airport, it’s just under 30km to the stadium. You’ll get onto the Terminalstraße Mitte, then take the ramp onto St2584, and then take the ramp onto A92. After just over 8km, take exit 4-Eching-Ost toward Salzburg/Munchen/Nurnberg. Continue on the A9, and stay left at the fork to stay on the A9. Take exit 73-Munchen-Frottmaning-Sud toward Munchen-Frottmaning and merge onto Werner-Heisenberg-Allee. The stadium will be on your left.
