Directions: The Stadio Ennio Tardini in Parma is just outside the city center – it’s close enough that, depending on where you’re staying, you might be able to walk there even if your hotel is right downtown. If you can’t walk easily (or don’t feel like it), bus lines #8, #9, #11, and #19 all go by the stadium.

Driving Directions to Stadio Ennio Tardini: From the Parma train station to the north of the city center, you have a couple of choices that are typically take the same amount of time. You can head south along the river bed that cuts through the center of the city (road names are Viale Paolo Toschi, then Viale Giovanni Mariotti, then Via Arturo Toscanini, then Viale Francesco Basetti) and then turn left on Viale Agostino Berenini. This road becomes Stradone Martiri della Liberta, and after you go around a small roundabout you’ll see the stadium on your right.

Your other option is to take the ring road around the eastern edge of the city center on Viale Mentana, which becomes Viale San Michele, until you get to the roundabout where you’ll turn left onto Viale Partigiani d’Italia and see the stadium on your right.

Although Parma is the site of a major Italian university and gets a fair number of tourists, the sad truth is that most of them are coming into town for the churches and the food – and not the soccer games. So there aren’t as many hotels right around the stadium as you might hope. Still, as mentioned earlier, the stadium isn’t as far away from the city center as some Italian stadiums, so you may feel up to walking back and forth to the game – even from the other side of the city center, it’s probably just a 30-40 minute walk.
