Directions: Bari’s Stadio San Nicola is not only outside the city center, it’s beyond the city’s ring road. The stadium is southwest of the city center, right off the highway (so relatively easy to reach if you have a car). If you don’t have a car, however, city bus line #20 connects the stadium with Bari’s train station.

Driving Directions to Stadio San Nicola:
From Bari’s Stazione Centrale train station, you want to get onto Via Giuseppe Capruzzi on the southern side of the tracks, heading west. Turn left onto Viale Ennio Quinto, which curves to the left. At the Piazzale Giulio Cesare roundabout, take the road that’s pointing southwest (Viale Orazio Flacco). Stay on this road until it intersects with Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII, onto which you’ll turn right. This road immediately becomes Viale Domenico Cotugno and veers slightly left – stay on this road. The road will merge with another and become Via Generale Nicola Bellumo, then after awhile it will become Via Bitritto. Still on Via Bitritto you’ll cross over the Tangenziale (ring road), and then when you can see the stadium you’ll turn left onto Strada Torrebella. The stadium will be on your left.

Bari is a very popular vacation destination, as is the entire region around it, for its beaches and warm weather. As a consequence, the city is positively littered with hotels. But, as mentioned, Bari’s soccer stadium is nowhere near the city center. So although there’s no shortage of hotels in the city, finding one close to the stadium could be more challenging (not to mention that it might not be the best idea, especially if you’re planning to do anything else in Bari besides go to a soccer game). Should you be interested in anything else in Bari, either make sure your stadium hotel is near a bus line or have a car at your disposal.
