Getting There & Away
Naples is the largest city south of Rome, a major tourist city in Italy and also one of the country’s big port cities. The historic city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it’s a great base from which to explore the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii. Getting to Naples is easy, and although central Naples isn’t exactly close to the Stadio San Paolo it’s got a good subway system that will get you there quickly.

By Air
Naples International Airport (NAP) is in the Capodichino district of the city, which is located about 8km northeast of the city center. It’s a major airport in Italy, and well-served by both big international airlines and smaller European carriers. Some of the airlines with regular service to Naples include Aer Lingus, Air France, Air One, bmi, British Airways, easyJet, Eurofly, Iberia Airlines, Lufthansa, TUIfly, and Vueling. Getting into central Naples from the airport is easy via the Alibus, which costs around €3 and stops at the Piazza Municipio and the Stazione Centrale.

By Train
Naples central train station is Napoli Centrale – Piazza Garibaldi, and you’ll find regular train service from all over Italy as well as points beyond. The central train station is also connected to the city’s subway system, so from the train station you can get just about anywhere in central Naples easily and quickly. To get to the Stadio San Paolo, take the FS Metropolitana line toward Bagnoli and get off at the Campi Flegri stop. It’s 7 stops from the city center.

By Road
From the Piazza Municipio in central Naples, head for the water and take a right on Via Ammiraglio Ferdinando Acton. This road curves to the right with the harbor and becomes Galleria della Vittoria. You’ll then take a right on Via Domenico Morelli, and a quick left on Riviera di Chiaia. Stay on this road, even as it curves to the left and becomes Via Piedigrotta, then Salita della Grotta, and then Galleria delle 4 Giornate. Just as this road is becoming Via Caio Duilio, you’ll turn right at Via Consalvo. Stay on this road as it curves to the left, and then you’ll take a left onto Via Terracina. As Via Terracina turns into Via Mario Gigante, you’ll need to turn left to stay on Via Terracina, and then turn left again toward the stadium.
